Rechargeable lamps have transformed how we use light at home. Without the constraint of a plug socket, you can move them between rooms, take them outdoors for an evening on the patio, or use them in spaces where wiring isn't practical. Our collection includes rechargeable LED table lamps with USB-C charging, solar-powered outdoor lanterns and stylish portable mushroom-style lamps in a range of colourways.

Each rechargeable lamp in our range is built around a long-lasting LED, with charging via USB-C or built-in solar panels for outdoor models. Most offer 8 to 12 hours of runtime on a full charge, with multiple brightness levels via touch dimming so you can match the light to your mood or task. They're particularly useful for restaurants, bars, garden parties, camping trips, conservatories, dining tables and any space where running a flex isn't ideal.

Our outdoor rechargeable range includes weatherproof rattan lanterns in natural and grey finishes — designed for year-round patio use, with solar charging built in. They're easy to move around the garden, give a warm, inviting glow and don't need an outdoor power supply.

Rechargeable Lamps FAQs

How long does a rechargeable lamp last on one charge?

Most rechargeable lamps in our range last between 8 and 12 hours on a full charge, depending on the brightness level used. On the dimmest setting, runtime can extend to 20+ hours; on full brightness, expect closer to 6-8 hours. Charging via USB-C typically takes 4-6 hours.

Are rechargeable lamps suitable for outdoor use?

Yes, but only those rated for outdoor use. Our rattan solar lanterns are designed for year-round outdoor use with weatherproof construction. Indoor rechargeable lamps should not be left exposed to the elements. Always check the product page for the IP rating and outdoor suitability before using a lamp outside.

Can rechargeable lamps be used as bedside lamps?

Absolutely. The cordless design makes them ideal as bedside lamps, especially in guest rooms or smaller bedrooms where plug sockets are limited. Touch dimming makes adjusting the brightness simple, and the LED runs cool and quiet — perfect for nightstand use.

How do I charge a rechargeable lamp?

Most of our rechargeable lamps charge via USB-C, with the cable supplied. Plug into any USB power source — a wall plug, laptop or power bank. Solar models can also be charged via direct sunlight; we recommend topping up with USB-C every few weeks during winter when solar charging is reduced.

Do rechargeable lamps work as reading lamps?

The brighter rechargeable LED lamps work well for reading on the highest brightness setting. For prolonged reading, a higher-output table lamp on mains power may be more comfortable — but for occasional bedtime reading, our rechargeable touch lamps are perfectly adequate.

What's the difference between solar and USB rechargeable lamps?

Solar rechargeable lamps charge via built-in solar panels and are designed for outdoor use. USB rechargeable lamps charge from any USB-C power source and are typically designed for indoor use, though some can be used outside in dry conditions. Solar models are best for gardens and patios; USB models for indoor portability.

Are rechargeable lamps energy efficient?

Yes — modern rechargeable LED lamps use very little power. A typical 3W LED rechargeable lamp uses around 0.024 kWh per evening (8 hours) — making it one of the most efficient lighting options available, especially when paired with solar charging.
